The Floral Park Public
Library opened its doors to the public in January 1923. The
Library occupied a succession of rooms in local buildings until
1963 when it moved into the Village Hall. In 1962, title to
the former post office was given to the Village and was then
renovated and opened as the Floral Park Public Library in December,
1964.
The Library is chartered by the New York State Education Department
to serve residents of the Incorporated Village of Floral Park.
Funding for library services is provided by the Incorporated Village
of Floral Park plus a minor amount of state aid.
During
the fiscal year ended May 31, 2007, there were 145,236
library visits, and 7,241 residents are registered borrowers. Our total
circulation was 106,082 items. A total of 12,062 reference
questions were answered. The
Library sponsored 111 children's programs attended by 1,644 children.
An additional 27 young adult programs were held with 413 people

LIBRARY PROGRAMS
A flower pot craft for children ages 3-5
