SPECIAL EVENTS
 

Family Theme Nights:  Bring the family down for an evening of music, fun, and games based on the theme of the night.  (See calendar of events for themes and dates.  Supplies are limited.)  Pizza orders will be taken and water activities will be available.  6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Pool Director's Dance:  Dance into the night at this "Adult's Night Out."  Bring your own table, chairs, food and refreshments.  Attendees 21 years of age and over only.  Limited guests.  Friday, July 6.  Tickets/reservations required. 
7:00 pm - 11:00 pm  No glass items.  *Pool closes at 6:00 pm* Rain date: Saturday, July 7.
Lending Library:  Come and relax by the pool with some of your favorite reads.  Enjoy a great mystery novel or get ahead with your summer reading.  We have reading lists from all of the local elementary schools.  Contact the Pool Main Office for more details. AHRC Bob McVeigh Swim-A-Thon:  Boys and girls receive pledges from friends and residents to swim laps.  All proceeds go to the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC).  Saturday, July 7.
Senior Citizen Days:  Senior citizen pool members will have a section of the pool and deck area closed for their use.  Bingo games, free coffee and danish will be provided by D&J Refreshments (while supplies last).  Senior citizen pass must be presented.  Friday, July13 & Friday, August 10 - 9:30 am - 11:00 am and Tuesday, September 4 (Senior picnic 11:00 am - 4:00 pm) Grandparents' Day:  Sunday, July 15 and Sunday, August 12, all grandparents will be admitted free when accompanied by a member.
Moonlight Movies:  Poolside videos of the latest releases and all-time classic children's movies the whole family can enjoy.  Check at the Pool Office and watch for posters for movie listings.  Enjoy a Kid's Combo Meal of either a hamburger, hot dog, chicken fingers or pizza served with fries and a soda for $6.00 from D&J Refreshments.  Thursday, July 5 and August 2. Teen Luau Splash Party:  Poolside water activities for teenage members only.  Food and refreshments available.  Wednesday, July 11 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  FEE:  $5.00 per teen.  Dinner included.  Ages 10 to 16   *Pool closes at 6:30 pm*
Rain date:  Wednesday, July 18.
Top Your Own Sundae:  Make your own homemade ice cream sundae with all your favorite toppings.  Friday, July 13 and July 27.  Begins at 6:00 pm while supplies last. Swim Team Awards Night:  Award ceremony for swim team member followed by a party for swim team members and their families.  Thursday, August 9 at 7:00 pm.    Go Pirates!
My Tot and Me:  Be in the water with your younger children and familiarize them with a pool environment.  Sundays: June 24 to July 22 from 10:15 am to 10:45 am.  Meet at the Lifeguard Station. Story Time For Young Children:  Hour-long story time for children every Wednesday starting June 27 and ending August 1 from 11:00 am until 12 noon.  Provided by the Floral Park Public Library.  Meet by Kiddie Pool.
Residents' Day:  Sunday, July 8 and Sunday, August 5, non-pool members of the Inc. Village of Floral Park may enter the pool by paying the guest fee.  (Inc. Village of Floral Park residents only). Poolside Playmates:  Parent/caregiver and child participate in a variety of indoor activities together.  Activities encourage language development and social interaction.  Sessions include music, movement, stories, and a simple craft.  Fridays, June 29 to August 3.  For ages 2 and 3 by June 29, 2012.  Additional $25 fee required.  First come, first served basis.  Limited spots available.  Class times:  9:15 am - 10:00 am and 10:15 am - 11:00 am.
1950's Roll Back Nights:  Thursday, July 12 and Thursday, July 26.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, sodas and ice cream (prices to be determined).  Sponsored by D&J Refreshments.
